February 2021 TBR and Monthly Reading Challenges

Hello! February is here and it is getting colder out too. Below is my TBR for February…lately I have been letting my mood to select what I want to read. I am a burn out on YA Fantasy right now and I am trying to put more books into my TBR that I know I would like to read and not give up on the book.

I do have some e-ARCs that I will be reading this month for blog tours.

In the Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce

All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda (TBR and Beyond Book Club Monthly Group Read)

The Vanished Bride (Bronte Sisters Mystery #1) by Bella Ellis

The Gilded Ones (Deathless #1) by Namina Forna (TBR and Beyond Tours Blog tour)

The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson

Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

The Cousins by Karen M. McManus

For February, I am going to be doing two reading challenges. With TBR and Beyond Book Club and Reading Rivalry.

TBR and Beyond Book Club monthly challenge is about finding your one true bookish love. It is like the Dating Game with 6 doors that hold bookish character. There is still time to sign up for the group and the game.

For the challenge I selected contestant #6.

Prompts for contestant #6:

Read a book with a murder or about a serial killer: The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson

Read book with a supernatural element: Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan

Read a Historical Fiction: In the Garden of Spite by Camilla Bruce

Read book with a strong female character: Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

Hoping to get these books done before the end of February so I can move onto another prompt.

Reading Rivalry is a monthly theme reading challenge. This month theme is fantasy and I am in the The Kingdom of Grimdark.

For this challenge, I am going to use books from my TBR that I am reading this month.

What are you going to be reading for February? Are you doing any reading challenges?

January 2020 TBR and Monthly Challenges

Happy New Year!! Hope your New Year was a good one and start out great. I spent New Year Eve and New Year Day catching up on watching Star Trek: Discovery, The Manadolarin, and The Witcher with hubby. I did start reading my first book of the New Year.

For January, my goal is to read five or more books this month. I am participating in TBR and Beyond Book Club.

Reading Challenges

TBR and Beyond Book Club

TBR and Beyond Book Club reading challenge is a two month challenge called Menagerie Boardgame. It is setup as a boardgame with rolling a dice to pick your prompts for books. It is a lot of fun and able to get your backlist down too.

My first roll and my books for each prompts. My second round I haven’t decided the books for the prompts yet.

I added some other books to my January TBR with the challenge books. Trying to get some of book series completed this year.

What are your January TBR? Are you participating in any monthly challenges this month?

December 2019 TBR and Challenge

There is only 23 days until Christmas!!! Hopefully, 2020 will be slower year…doubt it. I ventured out once over the Black Friday weekend to get something for my son…I end up purchasing what gifts I needed to get over the internet. I did get several books for gifts for friends and myself (of course…lol).

Hoping to get more reading done then I did in November. I am going to participate in TBR and Beyond Book Club Help Dobby Get Ready for the Holiday Season. It is really easy and not consuming with ready a lot of books for the holiday which is doable for me.

Below is my December TBR for the game and what I am in the mood to read right now.

  • Read a book that has some read on the cover – Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Taila Hobert (it is a group read for TBR and Beyond in January)
  • Read a book that reminds you of the holidays – Afterlife of Holly Chase (re-read)
  • Read a book with snow on the cover – Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle
  • Read a book with a winters cover – The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black

Also doing a group read with TBR and Beyond for The Wicked King and Queen of Nothing. The Wives and Dangerous Alliance are ones that I am interested in reading this month. It is small TBR for December but with the holiday and spending time with family it will hopefully be easy one to achieve.

What on your December TBR? Doing any reading challenges?

Happy reading!

Monthly TBR

Finally posting my May TBR, it has been a hectic and stressful week at work so I haven’t had the time to post about my TBR for May.

This time around I am not going to over the top with my TBR. Definitely reading three middle grade books this month because TBR and Beyond Book Club theme for the May is middle grade. We are having a middle grade challenge, if you want to join in the fun head over to our Facebook here.

The only middle grade books that I have read are the Harry Potter series so I am looking forward to reading these three and see how I like them.

The other books on my TBR carts are ones that I am hoping to get too this month.

What is on your TBR list for this month? What are you looking forward to reading?

Happy reading!
