Magical Readathon, Reading Rivlary, TBR and Beyond Blog Tour

April 2020 Reading Challenges

I did not do a wrap up for March because I forgot but I read three books last month and I didn’t buy a lot of books either. I am hoping that this month reading will be better since I decided to do three book readathon/challenges. Trying to do these to help with having to stay inside all of the time and reading helps me with relaxing. Also trying something different with tracking the reading challenges that I participate in every month, I decided to use a bullet journal which is the first time using one.

TBR and Beyond Book Club April reading challenge called Mix and Match Reading Challenge.

Below is my TBR for Mix and Match Reading Challenge and my cards. I have already completed one of the the cards – Backlist Title – 2019 or before with Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare.

Reading Rivalry Reading Challenge – Star Wars theme of old Star Wars duo and new Star Wars duo. I am in the Mandalorian and The Child team. I am using the books I am reading for TBR and Beyond Book Challenge.

O.W.L.s Magical Readathon hosted by G (Book Roast) – the readathon is based on the magical world that J.K. Rowling had created. The Magical Readathon is based on two main events: the Ordinary Wizarding Level exams and the Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests which are the two main exams students take at Hogwarts to find out which career would be place in. In O.W.L.s level have 12 reading prompts for each magical subject and to passed the O.W.L.s you have to select books on the prompts. Also, G is hosting quizzes on Twitter and Instagram to receive House points. My house is Ravenclaw.

I selected to do the Librarian career and I am doing the Legal Defence of Fantastic Beast Seminar, I will need to complete 6 O.W.L.s to complete my exams. I did change one of the books for the prompt instead of reading A Witch in Time for History of Magic, I am reading Serpent & Dove for that prompt. I did complete one O.W.L.s prompt for Transfiguration, I read Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare.

Is anyone doing any of these reading challenges? Which ones are you doing?

Happy Reading and be safe!

Monthly TBR

April 2019 TBR

Hello Everyone!

It is April and below is my TBR for the month. I am hoping to read most of these books and if not then I will roll over the ones that I did not finish into May TBR. I am doing several challenges this month. I am doing Reading Rivalry challenge, the theme for April is Jokesters & Tricksters! Sounds like lots fun, should check out the Reading Rivalry Facebook group if you are interested in fun reading challenges!

Another reading challenge I am doing is Dark Fantasy Match game by TBR & Beyond Book Club (check link if you want to join in the fun).

This month’s game is different. You MUST pick TWO cards to make a match (any two cards) and find a book with BOTH those themes in them and, of course, read the book. That will give you a match! I am excited for this challenge, I love dark fantasy books and I know this will definitely get me out of my reading slump. TBETTDark Fantasy Challenge

My April TBR cart for both challenges!

What is on your TBR for the month? Are you reading any good dark fantasy that you would recommend?

Happy reading!

  • Book featuring a person of color
  • A Satire
  • A book recommended by a celebrity you admire
  • A Red/Pink spine
  • A book inspired by Asian mythology, legend, or folklore
  • A book you wouldn’t normally pickup

I have chosen the books for this challenge and they are on my cart.

The second challenge is from TBR and Beyond Book Club is the monthly challenge called When Royalty Comes To Play. February - When Royalty Comes To Play

I chosen two ropes this time around, I chose the Snow Queen and Faerie Queen.

The books I chosen for Snow Queen rope:

And the books I chosen for Faerie Queen rope:

Also, I had one of the admins from TBR and Beyond Book Club to pick out two books to be included into my February TBR. I am going to be reading following:

The TBR and Beyond Group reads that I am participating in this month are The Gilded Wolves and White Stag.

That is it! I am hoping that I will get all of these read this month, majority of them are being used in both challenges this month so I should be able to get some of the completed.

Are any of these books on your February TBR? Are you doing any reading challenges to help reach your reading goal for the month? I would love to hear what your reading plans are for this month.
